Sacramento PASS is a parent-led school and community project that connects, supports and empowers parent advocates who have children in Sacramento City Unified School District schools to ensure student achievement, mental health and well-being, and education equity throughout the district.
Sacramento PASS partners and parents held a news conference at Leataata Floyd Elementary School to highlight student needs and parent opportunities for families at Sacramento City Unified School District Title 1 schools. Access the news release (pdf).

We use the term parent broadly to refer to positive, caring adults in the lives of students inclusive of:
- Parents
- Caregivers
- Extended family members
- Guardians
Sacramento PASS works to deploy trained and supported parents on school campuses to:
- Increase and facilitate parent engagement
- Prioritize parent concerns related to their child’s education
- Collectively advocate for solutions to improve student achievement, and
- Ensure the healthy social and emotional development of all children.
Community partners, funders and parents developed the project based on research and several frameworks of practice to inform its design and implementation – see the Resources section below.
Our collective goal is to create more timely, equitable and effective responses to educational challenges at the school district and school sites.
